Description

This position exists to assist patients with activities of daily living, provide basic care to patients, and assist in maintenance of safe and clean environment under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse in accordance with established policies and procedures.

Qualifications

High school graduate or equivalent. Reads and writes legibly, understands and follows directions.  Certified as a Nursing Assistant.  Current BCLS certification required. Physical demands include lifting/moving over 35 pounds, walking and standing for long periods of time.  Possesses audible acuity necessary for taking blood pressures and maintaining patient safety.  Possesses visual acuity necessary for reading charts, forms and communication, and giving patient care.  Must comply with Respiratory Fit Testing Protection Policy.  Emotional demands require working and remaining calm in a stressful, fast-paced environment.  Good organizational skills necessary.  Able to be a self starter (show initiative) within role. Effective verbal communication and interpersonal skills required.  Possesses active listening skills.  Able to get along with people and be sensitive to the needs of others.
