Position Description
Enter all University cash receipts into the accounting system. Maintain routine accounting and financial records. Distribute or mail student refund and work-study checks, as well as other checks as needed. Answer telephone and all in-person inquiries. Prepare form letters. Perform daily balancing and reconciliations. Make daily bank deposits. Review accounts to determine if checks should be voided, stale-dated, etc. Perform other duties as assigned.
Graduation from a standard high school and knowledge of monetary transactions; knowledge of cash register operations, business English and arithmetic; knowledge of modern office practices, procedures, and equipment; ability to learn clerical tasks readily and to adhere to prescribed office routine; ability to make arithmetic computations and tabulations accurately; ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions; ability to work independently as required and use sound judgment on problems encountered; ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with the sudents, the public, and other employees. Must have experience in clerical work.
May work on the Avon Williams (downtown) campus, Business Office and special events. Hours may vary.
