Founded in 1908, the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA)
serves as a forum for the nation’s 54 boards of accountancy that
administer the
Uniform CPA Examination, license certified public accountants, and regulate the
practice of
public accountancy in the United States. NASBA sponsors committee meetings,
conferences,
programs, and services designed to enhance the effectiveness of its member boards. NASBA
relocated its headquarters from New York to Nashville in January, 1997.
CPA Examination Services (CPAES), a division of NASBA, administers the Uniform CPA
Examination for candidates in 32 states. NASBA also administers the Uniform International
CPA Qualification Examination (IQEX) ) for Canada, Australia, Ireland and Mexico Chartered
Accountants seeking to qualify as U.S. CPAs. In addition, NASBA employs a continuing
professional education staff whose responsibilities include maintaining a national registry
for high
quality continuing education sponsors.
NASBA has 197 full-time employees and approximately 32 temporary employees who assist during
the exam cycles. NASBA’s New York office employs 3 full-time associates and
It’s Guam Computer Testing Center employees 3 full-time associates (GCTC).
